Dr. Anne Aspler is an emergency physician, assistant professor at the University of Toronto, and a mother of two girls. She is also a survivor of childhood family violence and sexual assault. Her mission is to inspire others to reclaim joy after trauma and be a part of the movement to end violence. Read more about her story here.

Cait Alexander, founder of EVE, is a survivor of near-fatal domestic violence. She created EVE because she wants survivors to have somewhere to turn when all aspects of the system do not support them. EVE is everything she wished she had, and she is living proof that EVE’s modalities work.

Jeff Schamahorn is a retired police officer, father, grandfather, and the founder of Horizon Protection & Training and co-founder of MPowered for Women. With decades of experience in law enforcement, use-of-force training, and self-defense instruction, Jeff saw firsthand the unique challenges women face when it comes to personal safety. Through MPowered for Women, Jeff is dedicated to helping women take control of their safety.
