Cait Alexander, founder of EVE, is a survivor of near-fatal domestic violence. She created EVE because she wants survivors to have somewhere to turn when all aspects of the system do not support them. Ivona Tymoshenko is a Toronto-based entrepreneur and a respected leader in the beauty and health industry. A lifelong friend of Cait Alexander, she is passionate about bringing people together and leveraging her network to champion women’s rights and advocacy.

Dr. Anne Aspler is an emergency physician, assistant professor at UofT, and a mother of two girls. She is also a survivor of childhood family violence and sexual assault. She has trained at WHO, Harvard, and worked as a humanitarian in thirty countries. But of all these accolades, the hardest thing she has done was find a path forward after complex grief from intergenerational family violence. Dr. Anne’s mission is to inspire others to reclaim joy after trauma and be a part of the movement to end violence. Read more about her story here.

Nikki Shumaker is a dedicated nurse, entrepreneur, and advocate for empowerment and renewal. As the founder of Renewal Clinic, she has built a space that goes beyond aesthetics — offering a place where individuals can restore confidence, reclaim their sense of self, and feel deeply cared for. Her own journey has been one of resilience. Overcoming personal and professional challenges, she transformed adversity into strength, creating a clinic that embodies renewal, a value deeply aligned with EVE’s mission. Nikki believes that true renewal comes from within — through self-care, community, and reclaiming one’s power.

Jeff Schamahorn is a retired police officer, father, grandfather, and the founder of Horizon Protection & Training and co-founder of MPowered for Women. With decades of experience in law enforcement, use-of-force training, and self-defense instruction, Jeff saw firsthand the unique challenges women face when it comes to personal safety. Through MPowered for Women, Jeff is dedicated to helping women take control of their safety.
